Odette is librarian and secret monster fucker. Living in a small town with no close friends or family, her patrons are the reason she keeps going each day. Chente is a Chupacabra who is new to town, moving to Canada for a job opportunity. Both are craving companionship in there own way. When Chente admits he can't read to Odette the two grow closer as she slowly teachers him how to. Chente decides to woo her, sending her flowers and taking her on adorable dates. The two have a sweet solid relationship bloom but they both have their own struggles they need to work through to make it work.

I really enjoy Gogh's writing but something about the pace of the stories keeps me from truly loving them. This was a cute read but the romance was quick to bloom, especially consider the MC said she was Demisexual and I was anticipating a little more slow burn. She also did a thing I hate in stories about librarians and that's using stereotypes to describe how much of a librarian you are, I am a librarian and I feel like most of the stereotypes are no longer accurate for modern librarians. Especially as the sole librarian in a library I highly doubt Odette has time to read. I cannot speak on the disability representation, but it was nice to read a story that included it. These books also give me very high expectations about what men should be doing for me, I want flowers just to make my day brighter.
