Taking place in alternating narratives this story highlights two terrible times in human history. The first world war as well as the potential end of the human race because of a deadly sentient virus. In the year 3797 Nika is trying to find a cure for the Caul, a sentient virus that has followed humans across the galaxy wiping them out. One of the last remaining outposts is on a planet called Crius 10 and it has a flower called triullium that is thought to be a vaccine against the caul. Nika want's to try and receive it peacefull from the natives, but time is running out and the thought of using force is imminant. She enters the settlement of the native Atabitihians and is handed a triullium flower to ingest and then finds herself in the year 1921. William Pike is still suffering from PTSD after being in the trenches during what seemed like the first world war. He sets out on a mission to find a hidden temple in peru that is somehow connected to the temple on Cruis 10. Now seperated by thousands of years the two try to get back to one another knowing they are meant to be together.

It was weird. Although interesting, it needed alot of polishing and could have been an amazing story if a pinch more editing occured. It's adsvertised as a love story, and although there is some romance it didn't really feel like it was more important than the sci-fi plot that took up much of the book.

It is also almost impossible to read digitally, because scenes occur opposite each other where you have to physically twist the page upside down to read it. I attempted to read them upside down but it took more time to read and was a bit discouraging.
