Liv Papandreas had her dream job working as a pastry chef at an upscale restaurant in Nashville. Making the signature $1,000 cupcake was just one of the things Liv was responsible for, and excelled at. When Braden Mack, the founder of The Bromance Book Club brings his GF in for the infamous cupcake one night, He and Liv's live’s spiral into disaster. While going to grovel for her job she witnesses the restaurant owner sexually harassing one of the newer employees. When the employee won't come forward Liv decides to find a way to expose her ex-boss with a little help from Mack himself. An enemies to lovers story the two find themselves coming closer together as they work to bring an end to her ex-bosses behavior.
I really enjoyed the first novel in this series (which you do not have to read in order to enjoy this one) but this one was far better. Although I loved reading about Gavin and being introduced to the Bromance Book Club the story told through Mack and Liv’s perspectives was superior. It was well written and entertaining. The story set itself up quickly and the pacing was perfect. I never hit a lull where I wanted to just get through it quickly in order to move on, which I find happens a lot towards the middle of any romance novel. Speaking of romance the story didn’t border on erotica which is something I personally hate. The sex in the story was descriptive but added to the story, while also being a little steamy. The one thing I loved was that the author included a six months later. I love a glimpse into the characters after the event of the story without a direct sequel.
I am looking forward to the next title from Adams, Crazy Stupid Bromance due to be released in October 2020. What do I have to do to read it now? Noah was one of my favorite new characters (aside from the Russian) from Undercover Bromance and I am so excited to learn more about him and his romantic interest Alexis.
I have been given an arc of this title from Net Galley and Berkley Publishing Group in exchange for an honest review. |
